What Is Angel Food Ministries
Angel Food Ministries is a non-profit, non-denominational organization dedicated to providing grocery relief and financial support to communities throughout the United States. The program began in 1994 with 34 families in Monroe, Georgia (between Atlanta and Athens), and has grown to serve thousands of families every month across 17 states.
Angel Food's groceries are sold in a quantity that can fit into a medium-sized box at $30 per unit. Each month's menu is different than the previous month and consists of both fresh and frozen items with an average retail value of approximately $40 to $70. The food is all the same high quality one would purchase at a grocery store. There are no second-hand items, no damaged or out-dated goods, no dented cans without labels, no day-old breads and no produce that is almost too ripe.
Also offered are specialty boxes such as steaks, chicken and pork. Many participants in this bonus program appreciate the expanded choices. Additionally, there is no limit to the number of units or bonus foods an individual can purchase, and there are no applications to complete or qualifications to which participants must adhere.
Who Can Order
Angel Food Ministry is available to any and all persons in our community. There are no qualifications or restrictions. Anyone may participate by the purchase of one or more boxes of groceries. There are no income guidelines to be met. Orders will be taken at the church (we are in the process of setting up sattilite site in Charlotte and elsewhere to better serve our community). Payment is made at the time you place the order. We ared able to accept Cash, Money Orders, or Food Stamps (Bridge Card) at this time. In the future, we hope to utilize the internet to allow for 24/7 ordering.
Volunteers Needed
Angel Food Ministry is not a "Church Fundraiser" for the Potterville Church of the Nazarene but community service (Ministry) to help anyone that may find our service useful. It is staffed entirley by volunteers and at present finically supported by the church, it's people and the generosity of others within our community. The Clothing Closet is just one way we are trying to support this Ministry. Angel Food has reached far beyond the borders of our local community of Potterville. We are touching live in Charlotte, Dimondale, Eaton Rapids, Williamston, Grand Ledge,Vermontville, Bellevue, Sunfield and Nashville just to name a few. And we would love to work side-by-side with you for a few hours a month as we help friends and families within out communities.
